Workshop
A guided, one-off creative experience where you'll create and take home your own finished artwork.
Description
Sculpt. Swipe. Splash. Let the coastline take shape.
In this hands-on textured art workshop, we’re heading seaside — no swimsuit needed. You’ll use plaster, modelling paste, and a mix of tools and materials to sculpt your own beachscape, building up textures that feel like real sand, foamy waves, and weathered shoreline details.
You’ll learn how to create and shape those beautiful, foamy waves, and how to work with different materials to achieve a variety of tactile effects within one piece. From soft, grainy sands to dynamic water movement, this session is all about turning your canvas into something you can almost feel.
The Atlantic has many faces — calm, wild, deep, or shimmering — and that’s exactly the spirit of this workshop. You’ll choose your own colour palette, define your own wave dynamics, and shape the mood of your coastline in a way that feels personal to you. It’s one of our favourite examples of how a simple theme can lead to completely different, unique creations.
If we had to recommend one workshop to start your journey with modelling paste, this would be it.
FAQ
We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before the workshop starts so you have time to enjoy your complimentary welcome drink, settle in, and get ready for the creative experience.
Our workshops begin punctually, so we kindly ask everyone to arrive on time. If you do happen to arrive late, simply join the group quietly. Your artist will help you catch up as soon as there’s a suitable moment during the workshop.
Your artist will guide you step by step through the painting process, while leaving plenty of room to experiment, make the artwork your own, and simply enjoy a relaxed creative evening.
At the end of the workshop, we’re happy to take photos of you and your finished artwork. We’ll also dry your painting as much as possible and provide you with a paper carry bag so you can safely take it home.
Your ticket includes everything you need for a great creative experience:
- 🎨 All acrylic paints, brushes, palette knives, modelling pastes and creative materials
- 🖼️ A 30 × 40 cm canvas
- 👩🎨 Step-by-step guidance from one of our artists
- ✨ A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere
- 🥂 A complimentary welcome drink
Your ticket includes a 30 × 40 cm canvas.
If you’d like something bigger, you can upgrade to:
- 40 × 50 cm canvas
- Round canvas (Ø 40 cm)
You can select your upgrade while booking or decide on the day of your workshop.
Want to paint together? Couples, friends and family can also create one artwork across two canvases. Simply ask your instructor whether your chosen theme works well as a split painting, and they’ll be happy to help you set it up.
Most painting workshops last around 2.5 hours. This includes the introduction, the guided painting session, time to socialise, group photos, and wrapping up at the end. You’ll spend around two hours painting.
Depending on the painting theme and the pace of the group, the actual duration may vary slightly—typically between 2 and 3 hours.
The expected duration of each workshop is always shown in the workshop description before you book.
Tickets may be transferred to someone else at any time.
If your plans change, you can reschedule your booking up to 72 hours before the workshop.
Unfortunately, cancellations or changes are no longer possible within 36 hours of the event.
For full details, please see our Terms & Conditions.
Not at all!
Our workshops are designed for everyone – from complete beginners to experienced hobby artists.
Your artist will guide you step by step while introducing you to the techniques of working with modelling pastes, palette knives and textured surfaces, so no previous experience is required.
Unlike traditional acrylic painting, Textured Art combines paint with modelling pastes to create artworks with real depth and three-dimensional surfaces.
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to build texture using palette knives and specialised materials while creating relief, movement and expressive compositions.
Your artist will guide you through the entire process step by step, making the workshop suitable even if you’ve never worked with texture before.
Every workshop ticket includes one complimentary welcome drink to help you settle in and get your creativity flowing.
Typical options include:
- ☕ Coffee, tea or matcha
- 🧋 Iced tea
- 🌿 Mate
- 🌸 Rhubarb Schorley
- 🍊 Orange lemonade
- 🫚 Ginger beer
- 🍺 Beer (18+)
- 🍷 Wine (18+)
- 🥂 Prosecco (18+)
The exact selection may vary slightly between locations, but we’ll always have something delicious waiting for you.
We provide aprons, and acrylic paint usually washes off skin easily. However, we still recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a little paint on, just in case creativity gets a bit enthusiastic!
Of course! If you booked together, we’ll seat you together automatically whenever possible.
If you booked separately, simply let us know when you arrive, and we’ll do our best to seat you together.
We generally recommend taking your artwork home with you after the workshop.
Because Textured Art uses thicker layers of modelling paste, your artwork may take a little longer to dry than a regular acrylic painting.
We’ll dry it as much as possible before you leave and provide a paper carry bag so you can transport it safely. We recommend handling the painting carefully and avoiding pressure on the textured areas until it has fully dried.
If you’d prefer to leave your painting with us, you’re welcome to do so. We can store it for up to seven days, after which we unfortunately can’t guarantee continued storage.
While we take great care of all artworks left in our studios, we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage during storage.
