Our open studio is for anyone who wants to take a creative break - with clay or colour.
Here you are free to do whatever you want: whether you paint, make pottery, glaze or continue working on your own projects - you decide. You can use the studio by the hour, drop in spontaneously or on a regular basis. As there is little supervision, the programme is primarily aimed at people with some experience of working with materials and techniques.

The price?
For painting you pay CHF 10 per hour.
For pottery CHF 15 per hour. Minimum booking is 2 hours.
The clay is additionally charged by weight, depending on the desired glaze and firing service.

Our studio has everything you need for your ceramic projects:

Our open studio for ceramics offers you a unique opportunity to realise your creative potential - in a professionally equipped studio with an inspiring atmosphere. Whether you work with a potter's wheel or prefer freehand modelling - here you can experiment and refine your technique in peace.

The studio is the perfect place for you if you like to work independently but still want to have access to high-quality equipment and professional support. Enjoy the creative freedom while you create your individual works of art.

Not obligatory, but a reservation secures your place!

Rather not - as there is little supervision, you should already have experience.

No, everything is available in the studio. But if you have special equipment, you are welcome to bring it with you.

Yes - if you are a member or have a PIE Open Card! In both cases, you can leave your unfinished works in our studio for a certain period of time. Unfortunately, storage is not possible without an Open Card or membership, as space is limited.

A complete firing process takes around 24 to 36 hours - including heating up, holding phase and cooling down. As we only fill the kiln when we have enough pieces, it can take a total of 2-4 weeks for your piece to be fully fired.

This piece is all about paint handling and contrast: thick, expressive application without using modelling paste. You’ll work with a combination of brush and palette knife, learning how to push, shape, and layer paint to create rich, tactile surfaces and a sense of movement within the subject.

We’ll also explore colour in two directions — how to achieve those clean, vibrant tones in the butterfly and flowers, and how to mix softer, muted shades for the background to create depth and atmosphere. This playful Saturday morning class is made for kids aged 6–12 who want to squish, shape, and sculpt their way through clay. From mini statues to funky mugs, we get hands-on and a little messy — all in the name of creativity.

Parents are welcome to join and co-create with their kids. Whether you’re making masterpieces together or working side-by-side, it’s a weekend win.

Here’s how it flows:
🕥 10:15–10:30 → Drop-off
🎨 10:30–12:00 → Clay sculpting session
📸 12:00–12:15 → Pick-up

We’ll guide your little sculptors every step of the way — no experience needed, just a love for making things with your hands.

Finished pieces will stay with us for drying and firing and can be picked up about 2 weeks later.

All materials are included.

🧈 Butter Me Up – spread a little joy

Let’s be honest: here in Switzerland, butter isn’t just food, it’s a way of life. From crusty Sunday Zopf to everyday sandwiches, that golden block deserves more than the foil it comes in. That’s why a butter dish isn’t just pottery — it’s tradition, it’s table culture, and it’s a little daily ritual of beauty.

In this cosy 2.5-hour workshop, you’ll get hands-on with clay to craft your own hand-built butter dish — practical, beautiful, and uniquely yours.

You’ll shape and decorate your dish just the way you like, so every breakfast feels a touch more special, with Swiss charm built right in.

No experience? No problem.
We’ll guide you through each step — from rolling and shaping to painting your piece with blue underglaze decals right on the spot.

It’s the perfect intro to ceramics: a little messy, a lot of fun, and totally satisfying. You’ll walk away with clay on your hands, colour on your plate, and a new skill (or obsession?) in the making.

It’ll be ready to pick up in about 4 weeks — food-safe and fabulous.

Whether you come solo, with friends, or for a team night out, you’ll enjoy a feel-good atmosphere, great company, and your very own ceramic creation to take home (well… after it’s been fired 😉).

Each event is led by one of our friendly ceramic artists, who’ll guide you step-by-step through shaping and decorating your piece. No pressure, no perfection — just good vibes, creative flow, and the joy of getting your hands dirty in the best possible way.

Most of our events take place in our beautiful, cosy studios in Zürich and Basel — fully equipped, full of charm, and designed to spark your imagination. Every now and then, we also pop up in partner venues like bars, cafés, or sunny outdoor locations.
