Ever dreamed of making your own cup or bowl on the pottery wheel? This is your moment to try – no pressure, no perfection, just you, the clay, and the magic of Wabi-Sabi.
In this relaxed, beginner-friendly event, you’ll learn the basics of wheel throwing, how to center the clay, and how to pull up your very first form – maybe a cup, maybe something totally unexpected (and that’s perfectly okay).
We’ll embrace wobbles, curves, and character, celebrating the Japanese art of Wabi-Sabi – finding beauty in imperfection and joy in the process, not just the result.
No experience? No problem. You’ll leave with a piece that’s 100% yours – shaped by your hands and full of personality.

Your First Creation on the Wheel: Embracing Wabi-Sabi
Shape & Fun: PIE Ceramics Event

Spin it. Shape it. Love the wonky bits.
✨ How PIE Ceramics Events Work
Treat yourself to a hands-on creative moment — where you can sip, snack, and sculpt your way through a fun and relaxing ceramics session. Whether you come solo, with friends, or for a team night out, you’ll enjoy a feel-good atmosphere, great company, and your very own ceramic creation to take home (well… after it’s been fired 😉).
Each event is led by one of our friendly ceramic artists, who’ll guide you step-by-step through shaping and decorating your piece. No pressure, no perfection — just good vibes, creative flow, and the joy of getting your hands dirty in the best possible way.
Most of our events take place in our beautiful, cosy studios in Zürich and Basel — fully equipped, full of charm, and designed to spark your imagination. Every now and then, we also pop up in partner venues like bars, cafés, or sunny outdoor locations.

Why take a pottery wheel turning course at Paint It Easy?
Forget boring theory - here it's all about experiencing and trying things out. Our turntable pottery courses are a mix of creative freedom, a good portion of clay under your fingernails and lots of fun. From the first kneading to the final glaze, we accompany you on your way to creating your own ceramics.
Perfect! We start with the basics and show you how to turn a simple lump of clay into a beautiful bowl, cup or vase. Come along to one of our clay workshops on the wheel or start with one of our ceramics courses for beginners.
In any case! We offer various ceramics courses for all levels. Even if you already have experience, a course is worthwhile - as a refresher, to deepen your knowledge or to get new impulses. You can also take part in our Studio Classes or use the Open Atelier for your own projects.
Nothing at all - we have prepared everything for you: Clay, turning discs, tools, glazes and aprons. All you need is a little curiosity and the desire to get involved in turning. We'll take care of the rest!
Our offers on the turntable
Forget boring ceramics courses where nobody talks and everyone is deadly serious when they turn their bowls. We laugh, experiment and get creative. Whether you're making an elegant vase, a funky cup or a crooked bowl with character - you decide where the journey takes you. Whether you're a beginner or a pro - we've got it covered.

Together a well-rounded thing
There are no strict ceramic masters working here with a serious face, but clay lovers with heart and humour. We'll show you how to tame the wheel, help you centre the tricky bits, teach you different techniques and celebrate your first home-made piece of pottery with you. Whether in Zurich or Basel - we look forward to seeing you.
