Master the face in four weeks — one line at a time.

Want to draw portraits that actually look like people? This four-week course is here to help you understand the structure of the human face — and give you the tools, techniques, and confidence to draw it like a pro.

You’ll work with a variety of materials including pencil and charcoal, and each session will focus on a specific element of portrait drawing: structure, features, proportion, light and shadow, expression.

Each class includes a short demo & discussion, followed by guided exercises — first from photo reference, and in the final week, you’ll draw from a live model right in the Studio.

Suitable for ambitious beginners and anyone looking to build a solid foundation in portrait drawing.

Whether you love graphic novels, manga, webcomics, or simply want to bring your ideas and characters to life, this course gives you the foundation to start creating your own comics with confidence.

We’ll explore the basics of visual storytelling, including panels, pacing, composition, and character design. You’ll learn how to turn ideas into sequences, build engaging scenes, and guide the viewer through your story — all while experimenting with different styles, tools, and techniques.
This isn’t about getting it “perfect” — it’s about getting your ideas out of your head and onto the page.

🤔 Is This Course Right for Me?
Most of our courses are designed with beginners in mind, but the Comics Course is a little different. You’ll benefit a lot from having some drawing and illustration experience before joining.

We recommend taking our Illustration Course first, as the Comics Course is built on the skills you develop there. Think of it this way: in the Illustration Course, you learn the building blocks — how to draw characters, shapes, expressions, poses, compositions and more. In the Comics Course, you’ll learn how to combine those building blocks to create scenes, sequences and stories that work as a comic.

You can still join without previous experience, but if you really want to get the most out of the Comics Course, we strongly recommend starting with Illustration first.

The Human Figure — One of Art’s Greatest Challenges.

The human body has fascinated artists for centuries. Full of movement, rhythm and expression, figure drawing teaches you not only how to draw people—it teaches you how to truly observe.

In this four-week course, you’ll discover the foundations of figure drawing while developing the confidence to capture posture, movement and anatomy with increasing accuracy. Together we’ll explore proportions, gesture, balance, light and structure, learning how simple shapes gradually evolve into convincing human figures.

Throughout the course, you’ll experiment with graphite, charcoal and other traditional drawing materials while practising gesture drawing, anatomical studies and longer observational drawings. Every class combines demonstrations, practical exercises and plenty of individual drawing time with personal guidance from your instructor.

The course culminates in a live model session, giving you the opportunity to apply everything you’ve learned while experiencing one of the most traditional and rewarding disciplines in classical art.
