Sculptural Vessel
A PIE Ceramics Workshop

- 2.5 hours
Up to 20% discount for Members
Where vessels become sculpture – and clay becomes yours.
This is more than just a bowl or a vase. It’s a chance to slow down, shape with intention, and create a piece that’s both functional and deeply personal. In this immersive ceramics workshop, we’ll explore how vessels — cups, plates, teapots, decorative forms — can be both useful and sculptural.
With expert guidance, you’ll learn traditional hand-building techniques and how to push their boundaries — forming shapes that reflect not just what you need, but who you are. You’ll be encouraged to experiment with form, texture, and creative expression as you sculpt a piece that feels grounded, beautiful, and uniquely yours.
In this class, you will create a vase or vessel approximately 30 cm tall. This size is achievable for beginners within the available time using the coiling technique.
Once complete, your work will be glazed and fired — ready to collect in about 4 weeks.
Want to bring it to life with colour? Book a painting session and receive a special discount to decorate your own ceramic creation.
Whether you’re just beginning or looking to deepen your connection to clay, this workshop invites you to transform a simple object into a soulful sculpture — one you’ll be proud to use, display, and keep.
Some of our workshops may be held in English depending on the instructor 😊 We really appreciate your openness and flexibility!

✨ Design & Dangle – make it, wear it, love it
Let’s face it: a good pair of earrings can turn an ordinary day into something a little bit special. And when they’re handmade by you — from raw clay to shimmering silver — they don’t just accessorize, they tell a story.
Over two cosy, creative sessions, you’ll get your hands (and maybe your sleeves) into the world of ceramic jewellery. From soft slabs of clay to the final glint of a polished pearl, you’ll craft earrings that are uniquely, beautifully yours.
Session 1: Shape Your Style
We’ll start from the ground up — literally. In 2,5 hours You’ll explore different clay types, learn how to handle and shape them, and experiment with hand-building techniques like pinching and slab work. With guidance from our instructors, you’ll bring your ideas to life, refining each curve and contour until your designs feel just right.
You can create several pairs of earrings in this workshop, we provide metal parts for 3 pairs.
Session 2: Fire, Finish & Flaunt
Few weeks later, when your pieces are fired, it’s time to add the magic. You’ll dive into jewellery assembly, learning how to pair your ceramic forms with silver findings and counter parts. Step by step, we’ll guide you through assembling and securing your pieces — ready to wear, gift, or show off with pride. This session you can book by e-mail to
ceramics@paintiteasy.ch
You will be given all the tools and parts that you need for assembly, with an introduction to these tools and you can assemble your wearables, and take them home ready to be worn.
By the end, you’ll walk away with:
🌿 A pair (or two!) of one-of-a-kind ceramic earrings — handcrafted, glazed, and finished.
💎 A new appreciation for the delicate dance between clay and jewellery design.
🔥 And maybe, a brand-new creative obsession.
Everything’s included: clay, tools, firings, glazes, pearls, silver findings — and expert guidance from ceramic artists of PIE.
This is a workshop for the curious, the creative, and anyone who loves to make something truly their own. No experience needed — just bring your hands, your ideas, and your spark.
It’s the perfect intro to ceramics: a little messy, a lot of fun, and totally satisfying. You’ll walk away with clay on your hands, colour on your plate, and a new skill (or obsession?) in the making.

Most of our events take place in our beautiful, cosy studios in Zürich and Basel — fully equipped, full of charm, and designed to spark your imagination. Every now and then, we also pop up in partner venues like bars, cafés, or sunny outdoor locations.
