Workshop

A guided, one-off creative experience where you'll create and take home your own finished artwork.

Description

Splash. Laugh. Glow.

Some kids love colouring inside the lines.
Others were born to throw paint.

Pollock in Pyjamas is our energetic Saturday Action Painting experience for children aged 6–12 who love to move, experiment and create without limits. Inspired by the freedom of Action Painting, every session encourages young artists to discover colours, movement and their own imagination in a playful, pressure-free environment.

After a short creative introduction, our artist demonstrates exciting Action Painting techniques and shows how different tools can create completely different effects. Then it’s time to let loose. Children splash, drip, flick, roll and layer paint while discovering that every mark on the canvas becomes the starting point for the next creative idea.

There are no predefined motifs and no right or wrong answers—only curiosity, experimentation and colourful surprises.

Towards the end of the workshop, we switch off the lights and turn on the UV lights. Suddenly fluorescent paints begin to glow, colours transform, and the studio becomes an entirely new creative playground. Children can continue painting under blacklight or simply enjoy watching their artwork come to life in a completely different way.

Each participant creates their own artwork on a 30 × 40 cm canvas, with the option to upgrade to a larger canvas during booking.

Parents are welcome to join the experience and paint alongside their children—or simply relax in our lounge while the little artists enjoy their creative adventure.

Every session is different. Every painting is unique. Every child leaves with colourful memories—and usually a very big smile.

More Infos

👧 What age is Pollock in Pyjamas suitable for?

Pollock in Pyjamas is designed for children aged 6–12 years.

We really mean this age range. The painting themes, teaching style and duration of the workshop are carefully chosen with children of this age in mind, ensuring everyone can enjoy the experience and finish feeling proud of their artwork.

⏰ How does the workshop work?

You’re welcome to arrive a little earlier, settle in and get comfortable before we start.

Our creative Saturday mornings follow a simple flow:

10:15–10:30 → Arrival & Drop-off
Come in, settle down and get ready for a creative adventure.

10:30–11:45 → Creative Session
Our instructor introduces the day’s project and demonstrates everything step by step. Then it’s time to create! The kids interpret the project in their own way, with guidance and support whenever they need it.

11:45–12:00 → Clean-up & Pick-up
A little creative chaos comes with a little clean-up! Then it’s time to admire what our little artists have created and head home after a creative Saturday morning.

Parents and accompanying adults who have booked their own spot simply join the creative session and create alongside the kids.

👨‍👩‍👧 Do parents have to stay?

Not at all!

Parents are very welcome to stay and paint alongside their child—that’s actually what many families choose to do.

If your child feels comfortable, it’s also perfectly fine to simply drop them off and pick them up again at the end of the workshop.

🎟️ What’s Included?

Your ticket includes everything your little artist needs:

🎨 All paints, creative materials and protective clothing
🖼️ One premium 30 × 40 cm canvas
👩‍🎨 Guidance and encouragement from one of our artists
🌈 UV painting experience with fluorescent colours
🥤 A complimentary welcome drink

All you need to bring is creativity—and clothes that don’t mind a little colour.

🖼️ Can we choose a larger canvas?

Absolutely!

Your ticket includes a 30 × 40 cm canvas, but if you’d like even more space to splash, drip and create, you can upgrade to a 40 × 50 cm canvas for an additional charge.

You don’t need to decide in advance—you can simply choose your preferred canvas size when you arrive.

🎨 What are we painting?

Unlike a traditional painting class, there isn’t a predefined motif.

We’ll introduce exciting Action Painting techniques before every child creates their own colourful abstract artwork by splashing, dripping, rolling and experimenting with paint. Every painting is completely unique.

🌈 Will we paint under UV lights?

Yes!

Towards the end of the workshop, we’ll switch on the UV lights and experiment with fluorescent paints that glow brilliantly in the dark.

This part of the workshop is completely optional. Children who prefer to continue painting under normal lighting are welcome to do so.

🧑‍🎨 Do we need any painting experience?

Not at all!

Picasso in Pyjamas is designed for everyone—from complete beginners to little artists who already love painting. Our artists guide every step of the process while encouraging plenty of creativity and personal expression.

👕 Will we get paint on our clothes?

Probably a little—and that’s part of the fun!

We provide protective aprons and clothing, but Action Painting can get wonderfully messy. We recommend wearing clothes (and especially socks) that don’t mind becoming part of the artwork.

🎒 Can we take our painting home straight away?

Yes!

Most Action Paintings are dry enough to take home straight after the workshop. Before you leave, we’ll carefully package your artwork in a paper carry bag so you can transport it home safely.

As Action Painting often involves generous amounts of paint, some artworks may still be a little wet. If you’d prefer to let your painting dry a little longer, you’re welcome to leave it at the studio. We’ll happily store it for up to one week, after which it can be collected during our opening hours.

🥤 Are drinks included?

Every participant receives a complimentary iced tea during the workshop.

Accompanying adults are welcome to enjoy a coffee or tea instead, if they prefer.

📅 Cancellation & Changes

Tickets may be transferred to someone else at any time.

If your plans change, you can reschedule your booking up to 72 hours before the workshop.

Unfortunately, cancellations or changes are no longer possible within 36 hours of the event.
