Saturday morning art fun for kids (and cool parents too)

No need to change out of your jammies — just roll in, grab a smoothie, and get painting!

This fun-filled Saturday class is made for kids aged 6–12 and packed with creative projects, giggles, and good vibes. Parents are welcome to join and paint side-by-side with their little artists (yes, matching masterpieces are totally a thing).

Here’s how it flows:
🕥 10:15–10:30 → Drop-off + smoothies & snacks
🎨 10:30–12:00 → Guided art project time
📸 12:00–12:15 → Pick-up + silly family photos (encouraged!)

The theme changes every week, but one thing’s for sure: it’ll be a crowd-pleaser — colourful, fun, and totally kid-approved.

We usually paint on high-quality art paper, but if you’d like to upgrade to canvas (perfect for framing or exhibiting), just let us know on the day.

Autumn Clay Pumpkin Workshop

Join us for a cozy ceramic-making event and shape your very own clay pumpkins! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced maker, this hands-on workshop will guide you through crafting autumn-inspired pieces that bring warmth and charm to your home. Perfect for seasonal décor or a unique handmade gift, your clay pumpkins will capture the spirit of fall. All materials are provided—just bring your creativity and autumn vibes!


✨ Part One: Shape it

We’ll guide you through the basics of hand-building with clay, showing you how to form a beautiful pumpkin with soft, organic curves inspired by nature. Whether you keep it simple or add textured details, this is your chance to slow down and get grounded (in the best way).

🎨 Part Two: Paint it

Once your plate is shaped, you’ll dive into underglaze painting — adding colour, contrast, and your personal touch. Our instructors will be there to offer tips and inspo, but you make the creative calls. Botanical pattern? Bright autumn tones? Scary face? You do you.

In this class you will have the opportunity to shape up to 3 little pumpkins of different shapes, or invest your time in just one larger pumpkin. 

🧡 After the event, we’ll take care of glazing and firing your piece. It’ll be ready to pick up in about 4 weeks — a little slice of ceramic joy, handmade and totally unique.

✨ How PIE Ceramics Events Work

Treat yourself to a hands-on creative moment — where you can sip, snack, and sculpt your way through a fun and relaxing ceramics session. Whether you come solo, with friends, or for a team night out, you’ll enjoy a feel-good atmosphere, great company, and your very own ceramic creation to take home (well… after it’s been fired 😉).

Each event is led by one of our friendly ceramic artists, who’ll guide you step-by-step through shaping and decorating your piece. No pressure, no perfection — just good vibes, creative flow, and the joy of getting your hands dirty in the best possible way.

Most of our events take place in our beautiful, cosy studios in Zürich and Basel — fully equipped, full of charm, and designed to spark your imagination. Every now and then, we also pop up in partner venues like bars, cafés, or sunny outdoor locations.

🌀 From Your First Lump of Clay to a Wheel-Thrown Masterpiece (or Three)

Ready to spin, centre, and make something beautifully yours?
This 3-week beginner course is your fast, fun intro to the swirling, muddy magic of the potter’s wheel. No experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to get your hands dirty.

Over three weeks, you’ll learn the three essentials of wheel throwing:

1. Shaping on the wheel
   
2. Trimming and refining your forms
   
3. Glazing your fired pieces for a final, lasting shine

You’ll start with the basics — prepping clay, finding your centre — then move on to pulling up walls, experimenting with form, and creating real pieces like cups, bowls, or small vases.

Along the way, you’ll get into the rhythm of the wheel, find your own pace, and discover why so many potters fall in love with this meditative, hands-on craft.

This course is perfect if you’ve always wanted to try the wheel — or if you’ve had a first taste and are ready to go deeper.
