FAQ

All the answers to your most important questions

Do you have any questions? We are here for you! Here you'll find answers to all the things that are important to you - clear, honest and to the point.

Painting events & workshops

Do I need experience to take part in a painting event?

No! Our events are perfect for beginners and are all about fun, not perfection.

What is included in a painting event?

All materials, a welcome drink and step-by-step instructions are included.

What does painting as a duo mean?

You paint on two canvases, which together create a joint work of art - twice as creative, twice as wow.

Painting courses, studio classes & open studio

What is the difference between a course and a studio class?

Courses are weekly units with structure and a clear programme end. Studio classes are flexible, ongoing and with personalised support - ideal for regular practice.

How does the Open Atelier work?

You pay per hour and work independently on your project - with our materials and vibes.

Can I leave my painting in the studio?

Yes, if you are a member or have a Studio Pass, we are happy to store your work temporarily. During a course, we will store all your work for you - and you can take it with you after the last lesson.

Ceramics events & workshops

What is a pottery taster course and who is it for?

A unique, relaxed workshop to try out - ideal for beginners who want to get a taste of what it's like.

How long does it take until I can collect my home-made ceramics?

Handmade pieces take approx. 4 weeks - they are fired at a high temperature.

Can I glaze my ceramics myself?

Yes, of course! You have three options:

  • In one of our glazing workshops, you will receive instruction and a discount if you bring your own piece.
  • If you already have experience, you can glaze your own pieces in the Open Atelier.
  • Or you can use our glazes for beginners in the Creative Café - ideal for trying out, for just CHF 20 per piece.

Ceramics courses, studio classes & open studio

How long does it take to learn pottery?

You'll create your own piece the very first time. For more skills, we recommend our courses or studio classes.

How does the Open Atelier work and how does it differ from the Studio Classes?

In the Open Atelier, you work independently on your own projects - without guidance, but with access to our professional studio. You can pay by the hour or get a PIE Open Pass:

  • Day pass (only on weekdays during the day)
  • Full pass (incl. evenings & weekends)

Clay, glazes and firing costs are separate and are charged according to consumption.

In comparison, our Studio Classes offer you a fixed time with guidance, tips and exchange - ideal if you want to practise regularly and need feedback.

Can I bring my own sound?

In short: better not. Foreign materials can be dangerous when firing. Talk to us if you have any special requests.

Creative Café

What can I expect at the Creative Café - and do I need a reservation?

Our Creative Café is like your favourite café - only more creative. Grab a drink, a paintbrush and get started. You can paint directly at the table, glaze ceramics or let off steam with small DIY projects.

Lots of materials are available, there's plenty of inspiration - and if you just want to watch or enjoy, you're just as welcome.

But: It tends to get crowded, especially at weekends - it's worth making a reservation!

How much do the activities in the Creative Café cost?

Depending on the material and project, prices range between CHF 20 and 45 - on average, you pay around CHF 25-30 for a creative DIY piece that you paint, design or glaze yourself. Everything included: materials, colours and lots of good vibes.

How do I get my ceramics after firing?

After glazing, your piece is fired - this takes about 2 weeks. As soon as it is ready, you can collect it from us in person or have it sent to you by post for an additional charge. We will let you know when your piece is ready!

Children & holiday camps

How can my child take part in lessons?

Simply send an email to kids@paintiteasy.ch - the trial lesson is free, after which flexible passes are available.

What should my child bring?

Just creativity - we'll take care of materials and snacks.
Please make sure that your child wears clothes that can be coloured - or bring an old shirt or an apron. Creativity can be colourful!

What passes are available for the Kids Camp?

We always start with the sale of weekly passes (full day) - so your child can fully immerse themselves in the creative camp experience.

If there are still places available, we also release day and half-day passes approx. 2 weeks before the camp starts.

Memberships

How does membership work?

To become a member, you first buy your personal membership card (for a small fee). You can choose between Starter, Pro and Student cards.

Each time you top up your card, you will receive 10-20% bonus credit - depending on the card (students, for example, receive 15%).

You can view your credit balance online at any time and easily use it as a means of payment at checkout

What can I use my membership card for?

With your membership card you can:

Book events, workshops & courses directly online - and use your credit as a means of payment.
Pay on site in the Creative Café, for materials or burning services - there you simply get a 10-20% discount depending on the card type.

Important: Your credit will not be debited on site - the discounts will be deducted directly.

Who can use the membership card?

The card is personal and may only be used by yourself - whether for bookings, discounts or studio access. Passing it on or sharing it is not permitted.

As a member you benefit from:

  • Discounts on materials, firing service & café
  • Access to the studio & open studio
  • Storage of your works and exclusive extras

Vouchers

Where can I redeem the voucher?

For all bookable offers, workshops, courses and in the café - not valid for private events.

Is the voucher digital or physical?

You will receive a digital voucher by email - to print out or forward.

Or you can pick up a beautiful physical card from our studio - ideal for giving as a gift!

We can also send it to you by post for a small surcharge.

How long is the voucher valid for?

Our vouchers are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.

Team events & event calculator

Do team events only take place in Basel or Zurich - or elsewhere too?

We offer team events in both Zurich and Basel - and are also happy to come to your location on request!

Whether in your office, a rented room, restaurant or somewhere in nature - we bring materials, good vibes and creative ideas with us.

How do I get a quote for a team event?

The easiest way to do this is with our online event calculator - where you can enter the date, number of people and desired activity and get an initial price overview straight away.

Or simply write to us - we will be happy to advise you personally and provide you with a customised quote!

Can we organise a team event at the Creative Café?

Yes, for adults - without instruction, but with drinks & food à la carte (advance booking possible). Please send us an email if you would like to reserve an area for your group in the Creative Café.
