âš Design & Dangle â make it, wear it, love it
Letâs face it: a statement piece of jewellery can turn an ordinary day into something special. And when theyâre handmade by you â from raw clay to lively wearables â they donât just accessorize, they tell a story.
Over two cosy, creative sessions, youâll get your hands (and maybe your sleeves) into the world of ceramic jewellery. From soft slabs of clay to the final glint of a polished pearl, youâll craft pendants and necklaces that are uniquely, beautifully yours.
Session 1: Shape Your Style
Weâll start from the ground up â literally. In 2,5 hours Youâll explore different clay types, learn how to handle and shape them, and experiment with hand-building techniques like pinching and slab work. With guidance from our instructors, youâll bring your ideas to life, refining each curve and contour until your designs feel just right.
You will be able to do a few pieces of pendants.
Session 2: Fire, Finish & Flaunt
Few weeks later, when your pieces are fired, itâs time to add the magic. Youâll dive into jewellery assembly, learning how to pair your ceramic forms with silver findings and counter parts. Step by step, weâll guide you through assembling and securing your pieces â ready to wear, gift, or show off with pride. This session you can book on our website:
https://paintiteasy.ch/creative-cafe-zuerich/
You will be given all the tools and parts that you need for assembly, with an introduction to these tools and you can assemble your wearables, and take them home ready to be worn.
By the end, youâll walk away with:
đż A pair (or two!) of one-of-a-kind ceramic jewellery â handcrafted, glazed, and finished wearables.
đ A new appreciation for the delicate dance between clay and jewellery design.
đ„ And maybe, a brand-new creative obsession.
Everythingâs included: clay, tools, firings, glazes, pearls, metal findings â and expert guidance from ceramic artists of PIE.
This is a workshop for the curious, the creative, and anyone who loves to make something truly their own. No experience needed â just bring your hands, your ideas, and your spark.
Itâs the perfect intro to ceramics: a little messy, a lot of fun, and totally satisfying. Youâll walk away with clay on your hands, colour on your plate, and a new skill (or obsession?) in the making.
đ„ After the event, we glaze and fire your piece for you.
Itâll be ready to pick up in about 4 weeks â food-safe and fabulous.

Surface Art: Sgraffito
Unveiling Hidden Depths: a PIE Ceramic Workshop
- PIE Event
- Beginner
- PIE Ceramics Basel
- 2.5 hours
Up to 20% discount for Members
Scratch beneath the surface â and reveal something beautiful.
Sgraffito â from the Italian âto scratchâ â is a decorative ceramics technique thatâs all about revealing contrast, pattern, and surprise. In this inspiring 3-hour workshop, youâll learn how to turn a simple slab of clay into a stunning ceramic plate using this ancient and captivating method.
Weâll start by rolling and shaping your plate by hand, then applying a layer of coloured slip (liquid clay). Once thatâs set, the real magic begins â youâll carve into the surface to create your own design, revealing the clay underneath in bold lines, fine textures, or whatever shapes your imagination leads you to. No drawing skills needed â just a sense of curiosity and a love of detail.
Youâll be guided every step of the way in a relaxed and welcoming studio atmosphere. From the first press of clay to the final scratch of your carving tool, youâll explore the sgraffito process with hands-on support, plenty of encouragement, and a glass of something refreshing in hand â your choice of wine, tea, prosecco, or something non-alcoholic to sip as you shape.
After the session, weâll take care of glazing and firing your piece. Your finished sgraffito plate will be ready for pickup in about 4 weeks. One plate is included in the price â if youâre inspired to make more, you can simply pay for extra materials on the spot.
This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to slow down, scratch beneath the surface, and uncover something beautifully their own.
