Short description of the Workshop:


Dive into the world of craft with our "Beginner's Guide to Embroidery". Perfect for newcomers, this guide guarantees a fun-filled learning experience, with no prior knowledge needed.


Annie will demonstrate 6 essential stitches which you can practice by following along. After the demonstration you will get the opportunity to use your new skill to create a masterpiece! The modern design is provided for you and already printed onto the fabric, so that all of your concentration will be on sewing and being creative. Unleash your artistic side, make new
friends, and have a blast learning this timeless craft.

What to expect:

  • You will learn the very basics of embroidery, how to spit and use the threads, how to hoop your fabric and how to start and finish your stitches.
  • Annie will demonstrate 6 simple stitches which you can practice by following along.
  • You will then get creative and use your new skills to stitch a modern design already provided for you or if you are feeling extra creative you can create your own design
  • At the end, Annie will teach you how to frame the hoop so that you can proudly hang your new creation at home

What is included?:

All materials are included. You do not need to bring anything except a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and have fun!

 

What you will achieve:

●  You will leave knowing the fundamentals of embroidery

●  You will have the knowledge of 6 stitches used commonly in embroidery

●  You will stitch a design provided for you by using your knowledge of the new stitches

●  You will learn how to frame your work in the hoop so that its ready to hang up whenyou arrive home!

 

Is this workshop right for me?

The workshop does not require any artistic knowledge or skills. It is designed for complete beginners who would like to jump into the world of embroidery and to have a fun day out!

 

Good to know

We encourage everyone to arrive 15 minutes before the start of class. This will allow us to start on time and will give you the opportunity to meet everyone and relax into the environment.

 

Instructor

Meet Annie O’Rourke, your instructor and a passionate Irish embroidery artist. Annie discovered her love for embroidery while studying Textiles at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin.
With a subsequent career in both graphic design and in the fashion industry, she not only honed her technical skills but also fueled her creativity.

Annie is excited to introduce you to the delightful world of embroidery, ensuring that learning becomes a joyful and fun experience!
