City Lights, Paloma Nights

Amidst this nostalgic setting, the focal point is the Paloma cocktail—a refreshing blend of tequila, grapefruit soda, lime, and a hint of sweetness—served in an elegant glass. The dark backdrop accentuates the vibrant colors of the drink, highlighting its allure and sophistication amidst the atmospheric surroundings. Through skillful brushwork and lighting, the artist captures the essence of a bygone era, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the nostalgia and glamour of 1960s New York nightlife.

In this workshop, we will start with a blank canvas and end up with a impressionistic still life painting using oil. This workshop is designed for beginners and is easy to understand. Even with a lifetime of practice, it is impossible to master painting completely. However, this workshop will provide you with a simple and straightforward method for creating impressionistic paintings. If you enjoy the process, you will have the foundation to continue practicing at home on your own.

You will learn a method by which you will be able to:

  •  draw the impression of what you see (from a photo of Elena Katsyura's work)
  •  mix and reproduce the main colors of your subject
  •  work with oil as a medium

During the workshop we will practice these complex tasks by drawing and painting a simple but pleasing still life.

Not only 3 hours, even a lifetime isn‘t enough to master painting ultimately. With that said, the idea of this workshop is to give you an easy to understand and straightforward method about impressionistic painting. If you happen to fall in love with the process, you will have the basics to continue practicing at home individually.
