Oil Painting - Vibrant Landscapes w/ Paolo Fratello

Short description of the workshop

Discover the path that leads you from a blank canvas to breathtaking fields. Italian artist Paolo Fratello takes you to this art-venture and teaches you the basics of oil painting. He guides you through the process of realising two stunning landscapes painted with the classical approach called glazing. We call it glazing, when a thin layer of paint is applied on top of your underpainting, resulting in rich, iridescent colours - an ideal  way to create truly vibrant landscapes.

What to expect?

  • You will realise two landscape oil paintings using photo references.
  • You will be painting in layers and finalise the first painting at the end of the second class, and the second painting at the end of the course.
  • Oil paint needs several days to dry. We are happy store your finished artworks for 2-3 more days until you pick them up.

Meet your artist tutor

"Beside my musical career, I’m active as teacher: I think a teacher’s activity is not just limited to the transmission of knowledge, but it should drive each student to develop his own potential, with an approach that must be always reinvented and adapted to the individual characteristics."  [Read more...]
