Picasso in Pajamas: Saturday Morning Artistic Adventures for Kids and Families
Our Abstract Art Adventures: Wednesday Whirl of Creativity for Kids class welcomes children aged 6-12 of all experience levels to explore the world of abstract art every Wednesday from 14:00 to 16:00. This fun, free-flowing session is all about creative independence—no parents required! All materials, snacks, and refreshments are included. Kids can experiment with abstract techniques at their own pace, while our instructors provide guidance on color mixing and material use. Join the fun!
The class runs from 14:00 to 16:00 on every other Wednesday afternoon at our PIE kids creative space, and we require a minimum of 3 children per session. During the class, children will work on fun art projects with the option for parents to join in on the fun.
The structure of the class includes a drop-off window from 14:00 to 14:15 with smoothies and snacks, followed by a fun art project from 14:15 to 15:45. We then end the session with packing up and a pickup window from 15:45 to 16:00.
All materials, snacks, and smoothies are included in the price of the lesson.
At the beginning of each session, our instructors provide a basic overview of color mixing and demonstrate the use of materials. Children will then work on a fun art project at their own pace, with the freedom to explore different artistic styles and creations.
PIE Events
Treat yourself to a creative Saturday morning out, where you can unwind, have fun and bond with your children, and the little ones can make new friends as they paint along.
You can join us in our studio at Wallstrasse 14, which is located right near the SBB station.
You absolutely don’t need any previous experience to participate. We provide a relaxing atmosphere, art supplies, a drawing template and step-by-step instructions from local artists, so your child (and yourself, should you wish to partake in the experience) can let go and have a creative and fun weekend start.
What to expect
At the beginning of the session, your instructor will demonstrate the use of materials and provide a basic overview of color mixing. Using a tracing template, you'll draw the outlines of your picture (no drawing skills required!) and then paint along with the instructor's guidance to create your own version of the painting.
The session will end with fun family and group pictures (silly ones encouraged!). Your painting is yours to keep, and you can take it home in a recycled paper bag.
